Welcome to The Omume Company!

Omume pronounced (Oo:Mu:Mei) - originates from the Igbo language in Eastern Nigeria meaning Behavior, Mood or Character. 

The Omume Company is an African-Inspired candle brand for the explorer in you! A Black-Owned candle company and Women-Owned business created by our founder, Christabel, who is in love with all things food and travel. After battling a stress-induced illness, she began to focus on things that bring her joy, create experiences to enrich her life and journey back to her true happier self.

By returning to her roots and finding her identity, changing a few behaviors and discovering ways to improve her mood - The Omume Company was born! In her spare time, she not only explores new hobbies and cooks foods from her Nigerian background, but she also celebrates the richness of the African regions through music, food and planning new travel destinations. 

The Omume Company celebrates the beauty and uniqueness of the African continent through home fragrances. Each scent is formulated with premium aromatherapy blends and mood-enhancing candle scents to not only promote positive behaviors but also, transport you across the globe to different African destinations.

All products are handmade, vegan, toxin-free, phthalate-free, hand poured in small batches and use eco-friendly packaging.
